In collaboration with Casper, I was asked to share my experience as I juggle school, blogger duty and socializing with family and friends.
In all honesty, it’s not always easy and it does get a little overwhelming at times. I sometimes wish that my days had more than just 24 hours so that I could accomplish and cross-off all the tasks lined up in my agenda.
When I first started blogging, I was in my first year of college and coincidentally adjusting to the transition from high school to college. I knew it was going to be a lot of work, especially since I had decided to join a sports team, which meant several practices and game time during the week and weekends. I was willing to put in the hard work and within a few months, it landed me some interesting collaborations and even a holiday modeling campaign with Maison Simons. Reaping the benefits from the blog was very rewarding and exciting but it was only a matter of time when I came to the conclusion that putting all this effort didn’t always lead me to the path of success. While school had always been my priority, I struggled to balance the rest of my life. I soon realized that I was not able to dedicate as much time to the blog as I wish I could. I needed to manage my time better, even if that meant cutting back on blogging.
Since then, I set a simple routine and have become a lot more selective on the projects I wish to work on. I no longer feel the need to accept collaborations for which I don’t have time for nor do I feel the obligation to attend all the blogger events. I now know my limits and that the key to my success is not necessarily working hard but working in a smart manner. I prioritize my tasks, schedule at least one outfit post per week and limit my blogger events to once or twice a week.
The other two factors that have really helped me in balancing blog and student workload, is getting more sleep and making the most out of my free time. To me, nothing feels more rewarding than slipping into my bed and feeling my cozy nest at the end of the day! I really depend on my Casper mattress when it comes to restful and deep sleep nights. The super comfortable pressure-relieving memory foam and top breathable layer allow me to sink into it while taking my body support adjusting to my body temperature. I enjoy it so much and that it has become my bed & binge sanctuary where I watch my Netflix shows, indulge in a good book, or simply spend some online time.
In the end, what is important is that I have found a routine that works for me and that keeps me happy and fulfilled.
