Lisbon: Day 2

Yesterday was just amazing!  Knowing that we had a big day ahead before our next destination, we didn’t waste any time. We did so much walking throughout the city which wasn’t always easy because of the hills, but oh so rewarding. It was so amazing to see all the colored buildings, the ocean, the crispy blue sky, the architecture and historical sites. This country is definately underated!!

We started the day with breakfast on our rooftop terrasse at the Tivoli Hotel which has a superbe view overlooking the the city.

We followed with a visit to the Monasterio dos Jeronimos, the Torre de Belém and the Praça do Comércio.

My favorite stop of the day (obviously had to do with nomz) was at the famous Pasteis de Belém café, the original factory where the delicious creamy pastries were invented by the monks. One cannot come to Lisbon without making a stop here. Total foodgasm!

The day ended with a nice walk down the Avenida da Liberdade, one of Lisbon’s nicest streets. It reminds me a little of NYC’s 5th avenue!   We then came back to our hotel for a nice dinner and evening drinks at the rooftop terrace, which coincidentally is the Sky Bar at night. The evening view is spectacular!
