Making Little Changes with Sephora’s Holiday 2017 Collection

Call me a creature of habit but I’m not one to often make unusual big changes. I like living in my comfort zone because I’m happy and live well with it. Every so often, however, I do like to give myself a little challenge to avoid the feeling of being “stuck in a rut”.  So yesterday, I committed myself to a small daily dosage of change (#babysteps).  One of my 2018 resolutions (and I’m really going to try to stick to it) is to get out of my comfort zone by trying new beauty trends and looks. I have had the same makeup routine for as long as I can remember because it’s so easy and I’m always happy with the final natural look. It’s quite amusing because I spend a lot of time watching my favorite Youtube beauty gurus’ makeup tutorials for inspiration and always tell myself that I am going to try new makeup techniques and products only to back off at the last minute.  I envy girls who are bold with their makeup and that use all kinds of “colors” and products as opposed to my soft neutrals, which I can almost apply with my eyes closed 🙂

I recently received some of the Sephora Collection Holiday 2017 collection and played around with the eyeshadow palette. I must say that my skills & techniques require some polishing but I was pleasantly surprised by the unexpected outcome. The experience did come with a few trial-and-errors but the light smokey eye effect was pretty good! I see makeup as a form of art and way of expressing yourself so why not give it a try, right? There are no guarantees that I won’t eventually be returning to my soft neutrals but I can say that I really enjoyed this change and that I finally got the courage to try something new!  I have listed the products I used from the Sephora Holiday Collection, which by the way, comes in really nice packaging.

1 – Sephora Collection Winter Queen Palette (20$)

Finish off your festive #motd with the pink or coral blush, bronzer and pearly champagne highlighter from the Winter Queen palette.

2 – Sephora Collection Wonderful Stars Palette (23$)

The face & eye palette includes 9 matte & shimmering eyeshadows, 2 blushes and a luminizer to create the perfect holiday look.

3 – Sephora Collection Mini Cream Lip Stain Set (15$)

The set offers 4 must-have shades of Sephora’s best-selling Cream Lip Stains. Infused with avocado oil, the stains keep your lips moisturized as you rock a long-wearing matte color.
