Tying the knot

Like me, you have most probably noticed a lot of knot tying action on t-shirts and shirts lately.  I don’t like to call it a trend because, in reality, it’s a fashion movement that has been around for quite a while.  A nice looking knot around the waist can totally transform a regular piece of clothing and turn it into a flirty yet sophisticated look. Although many may think this is more of a summer thing, I believe that it’s a great way to transition your summer to fall looks. That is what I was looking for when I pulled this outfit together. I wanted it to be playful but chic, so instead of tucking the shirt into the jeans, I twisted a knot right around the center of the waist to give it a more flattering look.  The key to keeping it chic is to show some skin without going overboard, keeping the eye on the midsection of the outfit and leaving some attention for the rest of the details.  I paired the shirt with these amazing fringed, hug-fitting and leg elongating jeans that add the perfect edgy touch to the entire look. I tied the whole outfit with my favorite strappy sandals and accessorized with a patterned wristlet clutch.  To take this outfit from a night-to-day look, I would switch the heels for white sneakers and replace the clutch for a tote bag.
